about

Rancon is a digital agency founded by Jan Heuff in 2000, with offices in London and Cheltenham.

The agency found early success through viral games. Within 3 years the viral games surpassed the 500 million plays mark and they began wondering if perhaps they could build a better all round digital experience for their clients.

Today, the agency specialises working with the Entertainment, Lifestyle, Technology and increasingly Financial sectors, providing digital experiences that promote and enhance brands across platforms.

Rancon won a few clients and began creating some fun and addictive cross-platform branded experiences. Then things began to get interesting. The client list developed from little known local companies into major advertising agencies and brands, including Sony, ITV, Channel 4, HP, McDonalds and MTV.

As the reputation has grown so has the team. Today Rancon brings the same level of strategy, creativity and technical prowess to diverse mobile and online projects, including Crimestoppers (social networking, video, blogs and games), MoreEco.com (brand launch and social media strategy) and NESTA (building niche social communities). All with the single aim of helping brands and organisations grow through remarkable digital content.

The team is evenly split between creative and technical and increasingly time is spent developing digital projects for many platforms, often all at the same time. These include:

  • Web
  • iPhone
  • iPad
  • Andorid
  • Blackberry
  • Kinect
  • Wii
  • Touchscreen / Kiosk

Rancon has been developing successful mobile applications since 2003 and this gives the company unique insight and knowledge of the challenges of bringing content to portable platforms.

Over the years Rancon has won a few awards along the way, including a Third Sector Excellence Award and a Yahoo ‘Finds of the Year’ award for our work with the Crimestoppers Trust.
